In the BDO Consultant division, we are searching for a committed team player to join our Tax team.

Responsibilities:

The Consultant will independently perform the following activities under the supervision of a manager:

  • For each client/engagement - collection, analysis and summary of information necessary to establish the existence of a tax return filing obligation, determination of taxable/non-taxable income by source, identifying other tax and social security obligations of the client, identifying opportunities for tax relief and elimination of double taxation
  • Correspondence with clients in Bulgarian and/or English, as well as independently conducting meetings with them
  • Consulting clients on specific cases and issues, including researching the applicable regulatory framework and relevant practice
  • Preparation of tax returns, submission and receipt of clients’ documents, representation before the National Revenue Agency (NRA)
  • Preparation and review/editing of translations of documents from and into English, including drafting of documents in connection with the performance of engagements
  • Participation in engagements related to the application of DTTs and/or other international agreements in the field of taxation and social security
  • Performing administrative tasks in accordance with internal company rules and procedures, incl. tasks related to reporting of work hours, invoicing clients for the services provided by the specialist, identification in accordance with the MAMLA (Measures Against Money Laundering Act) of clients for tax services, and others.

Requirements:

• Ability to analyse data and documents and present information relevant to the engagement in a concise manner

• Knowledge of Bulgarian legislation and practice in the areas in which they work

• Higher education in Economics or Law

• Excellent computer skills

• Excellent command of English – spoken and written

• Experience in a similar position is an advantage
