Top level role summary

In the BDO Consultant division, we are searching for a committed team player to join our Accounting team.

What you’ll be doing
The position refers to an adequate and competent servicing of our clients, organisation, collection and recording processes of accounting documentation in accordance with the applicable accounting standards and internal policies and procedures for accounting services of each client, including:

  • Monthly book-keeping according to the Bulgarian accounting and tax legislation and the specific requirements of each client;
  • Preparation of monthly VAT returns, INTRASTAT returns, management reports, annual tax returns, statistical reports, reports to the Bulgarian National Bank, etc.;
  • Regular communication with clients for clarifying current accounting issues and questions;
  • Preparation and review of annual financial statements in compliance with the National Financial Reporting Standards (NFRS) and the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS);
  • Training and supervising the work of the team members.

What you’ll bring

  • Higher education in Economics (Bachelor’s or Master’s), preferably in Accounting;
  • Professional experience in accounting – minimum 3 years;
  • Good command of English – both verbally and in writing (B2 / C1 – according to the Common European Framework of Reference for languages);
  • Good knowledge of the current Bulgarian accounting and tax legislation;
  • Advanced computer skills – MS Office, accounting software, experience in generating and processing data in Excel;
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks with attention to details and under tight time constraints;
  • Readiness to take responsibility and initiative, capability to work effectively in a team environment.
